The Story of Sarah...and Kyla

Dear Friend,

I would like to express my deep gratitude to you for supporting the vibrant, life-giving ministry of Austin LifeCare.  LifeCare means so much to me and my family, because it is through their work that my daughter was spared from becoming an abortion statistic and came to be a member of our family instead.

Kyla is so precious, sweet, and funny!  I am certain that if you could spend even one hour with her, you would fully comprehend the value of your contributions of time and money to this important ministry.

Kyla’s birthmother, “Sarah”, came to LifeCare as a teenager who was frightened, devastated, and totally alone.  When she was given a sonogram through LifeCare, it gave form to her precious daughter.  As a result, she elected to place her little girl for adoption.  The LifeCare staff supported her with her decision, giving her the love and acceptance she needed to see the pregnancy through.  LifeCare put Sarah in touch with the adoption agency we were using, and she picked us to raise her child.

Everywhere we go, people notice Kyla and tell us how happy and beautiful she is.  We know that God has a very special purpose for her life.  We know that God, in His ultimate wisdom, used LifeCare to spare Kyla's life for an eternal reason.

Since Kyla's birth, we have met Sarah twice in Austin.  Both times, she has elected to meet at LifeCare because she feels safe and comfortable there with the warm, loving staff.  Being able to see her baby and to know that Kyla is thriving and is so loved is healing for her.

Your support of LifeCare has been a tremendous blessing to my family.  My husband, my son and I have already received unimaginable treasures from Kyla's precious life.  Throughout Sarah's pregnancy, John 4:38 kept coming to mind.  I believe this verse deals not only with the sacrifices of Kyla's birthmother, but also the sacrifices of LifeCare and its supporters:  "I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labor."  LifeCare and people like you have sowed spiritual seed in my daughter's life by preserving her life and allowing her to be born.  My husband and I will continue to sow the Word of God in Kyla's life, but we have already reaped a huge reward from your efforts.  We have received the completion of our family and my lifelong dream to have a daughter.  I pray that you will celebrate our daughter's life with us as "he sows and he who reaps may rejoice together."  (John 4:36)

Thank you for giving your time, energy, and finances to support a ministry which acted as the hands of God, preserving our sweet daughter's life.  We are forever indebted to you for your unselfish and giving acts.

Rejoicing with you in God's unfathomable grace,

Mary Gray
